An article from TuftsNow, points out "Empty shelves lining supermarkets, farmers dumping milk and abandoning fields of crops, restaurants laying off staff—the American food landscape has changed dramatically in just a month, thanks to stay-at-home advisories and social distancing in the age of COVID-19." This and many other challenges families face when feeding their children during this time, including kids who rely on breakfast and lunch via school lunch programs, has added even more stress to families across Wisconsin and throughout the US.
LIVEfor...has always been about fostering trust and support in kids to give them the freedom to go confidently in the direction of their dreams. Yet, when faced with a new challenge of how to get food on the table, big dreams can be pushed aside. Now, more than ever, we feel the urge to continue to help inspire kids across the state of Wisconsin by focusing in their physical well being. We partnered with the Wisconsin Podcast Association and LeanFeast to raise money to support the kids and families who have been at the heart of our mission, by raising enough money to provide 100 nutritious meals to their doorstep.
LeanFeast is a convenience-based restaurant and online storefront. It provides healthy meals on-the-go for anyone who finds it challenging to maintain proper daily nutrition.
With the help of them and the WPA, we were able to connect with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and continue to focus on our three core values: the physical, mental, and social well being of children in need by providing 100 meals to families in need on 11/18/2020.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed!
